SKIN BIOPSY
It is used for diagnostic, therapeutic as well as sometimes in prognostic purpose of various skin ailments. Usually punch biospsy is done using a small cyllindrical punch of appropiate size according to lesion. For some cases Incisional or Exicisional biopsy is also indiacted. After collection of sample it is properly handled to laboratory in appropiate solution for various pathological or microbiological investigation like Histopathological examination, Direct Immunofluroscence, Culture, Staining, Mounting etc.
